FOURTH INTERNATIONAL EXTREME SKI & SNOWBOARD
COMPETITION
17-20 MARCH 2005, BANSKO, BULGARIA


The most modern ski center Bansko has turned to be the most attractive destination in Bulgaria. The 2004-2005 season was opened by the world famous skier Mark Girardeli and the great football player Hristo Stoichkov. The length of the ski runs has reached 65 km. There are one eight-sits gondola, seven chair lifts and seven draglifts. The good combination between the modern infrastructure and the historical and ethnic value of BANSKO brings a high quality and developed ski resort which has earned its place among the most famous European ski resorts.

The aim of this international competition is to popularize the extreme styles - free ride and freestyle. It gives the foreign skiers and snowborders the opportunity to experience the unique for this discipline conditions in BANSKO. Two of the three-sits chair lifts and two draglifts reach at the foot of the trace so all the audience and journalists can without any difficulty observe the competitors' performances.

The competition takes place on the North face of Todorka peak (2748m). The challenging traces are combination of drops, rocks and trees in the powder.

The event is thrilling not only for competitors and the public but also for journalists from the Bulgarian and international media. For instance well-known American magazines such as "Powder magazine" and "Skiing magazine" had published articles for BANSKO and BULGARIA after their representatives were invited to the last years THIRD EXRTREME SKI AND SNOWBOARD COMPETITION. An article and photos also appeared on the cover of the famous "Poachers" magazine and which was distributed at Alpine destinations.

More than 60 skiers and snowboarders from Bulgaria and all over the world are expected to gather for the forth time in Bansko and compete for a prize and money fund of 2000 euro.
